Rev. Dr. Rasheed Quintee' Ray
Rev R. Q. Ray was born August 28th 1986, to the blessed parents, James Ray Jr. and Priscilla A. Bolden. He is a native Baltimorean and a proud product of the Baltimore City Public School System, where he is an Alumnus of the nations 3rd oldest high school, Baltimore City College High School. After City he continued his education at Baltimore City Community College in pursuit of a degree in Psychology and North Central Theological Seminary majoring in Christian Counseling. Employed with the International Associations of Amusement Parks and Attractions in Alexandria, VA, as the Assistant Accountant and Support Services Coordinator for a few years, he returned home to work for the Baltimore City Public Schools as a member of the Student Intervention team. He is now currently employed by Baltimore's DPW in the customer service division. In June of 2009 he was sworn in by the Honorable Mayor Sheila Dixon, as the 12th district Youth Commissioner. In the short time of serving on the Youth Commission, Rev. Ray was appointed Chair of the Education Committee and voted to serve as the Sgt-At-Arms, Vice-Chair, and as well as Chair of the Youth Commission.
Rev. Ray accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age at the Morning Star Baptist Church of Christ, under the Pastoral guidance of the Late Rev. Dr. Samuel Ray. During the untimely death of his grandfather, Rev. Ray had received and accepted his call to the ministry. He has served as an Associate Minister at “The Star”. In October of 2009, Rev. Ray was appointed as the 3rd and youngest Pastor in the 20+ years history of the Rose of Sharon Baptist Church and Outreach Ministries, now named New Restoration Baptist Church. In August of 2014 Rev. Ray became the second Pastor of Emmanuel United Baptist Church. After 6 months of serving as the assistant Pastor, the members of Emmanuel unanimously voted and confirmed Rev. Ray's call to serve. Rev. Ray was honored by the H. Roscoe University, with an honorary Doctorate Degree of Divinity. He is a member of New Covenant Churches International, Inc, under the leadership of Bishop Larry D. Leonard, Sr. Currently he is Overseer for the State of Maryland. Rev. Ray lives daily by, that the “Lord is his Shepherd, and he does not want.” Because of that belief he has had several opportunities to break the bread of life at many venues throughout the east coast; small, large, young, old, and to many different persons of different cultural backgrounds.
Rev. Ray married his best friend, his partner, his rib, Deaconess Casey L. Ray and they are the proud parents of Zoë M. & Ella H.L. Ray.
